Litquake Literary Festival
San Francisco, October 2019

As part of a celebration of the 45th anniversary of the publication of Studs Terkel’s book, Working: People Talk About What They Do All Day and How They Feel About It, Nada Djordjevich described true tales of angst, awkward moments, and mild indignities at work. Her comic essay suggested the sadly aspirational quality of Studs Terkel’s remark that, “We have a right to ask of work that it include meaning, recognition, astonishment, and life.”
